This will be Kate and me tomorrow! We are heading to the Big Apple to visit friends. I'm so excited, I hope I'll have all my finger nails by the time we get there!
As for my personal review, it wasn't exactly what I expected. I wasn't even sure what to expect, but it was creative. I don't think it was the best movie ever for little ones like Kate and possibly Laney, but it was "thought promoting" for my older two. Any time that happens, it gets a 'thumbs up' from me.
It was unseasonable hot today so Mikelle and her BFF decided to cool everyone off...for a $price$.
Ever since Seth did a report on how "Pigs Are Indeed Smarter Than Dogs", he has been infatuated with the hooved creature. He has created piggy clubs, stories involving flying pigs, and many fine, swine pieces of artwork. Some children love kittens, some love horses, mine love swine. What can I say? We walk to our own beat. So when I came across this ultra soft stuffed pig on display at Kohl's, I couldn't resist.
Heck, it was for a great cause.
Kohl's Cares for Kids donates 100% of their net profit from their selected merchandise to 'promote health and educational opportunities for children nationwide'. I think that's awesome! Especially when I see the effect a simple purchase can have on my own child.
I discovered this wonderful site several months ago and have loved it ever since. LDSLiving is a magazine, but also has a wonderful site online. I subscribed somewhere on their site to receive a weekly email for free to give me, not only LDS news, but also a Family Home Evening idea for the week. I conveniently get an email every Monday morning (you'd think they planned it that way:) with a topic, scripture, story, activity, and treat idea. It's perfect for my procrastinating ways and has helped us keep the ever important routine of having Family Night.
A couple of years ago, left on the front step, was a large package addressed to Stacy from Stacy. I was perplexed. I didn't recall sending myself a surprise. I immediately opened the box and found wonderful things inside. There were bags and bags of Stacy's Pita Chips, one of every flavor. Their latest marketing strategy was to send a gift like this to all the Stacys in the US. That is probably the BEST marketing strategy ever!
Why am I posting this news now after all this time has passed? Here's where I fill you in...for the past several weeks, I have been hooked on hummus, red pepper hummus to be precise. The below pictured hummus to be even more precise.
Who knew something called a chickpea could be so delicious? Serve it up with some crunchy Stacy's Simply Naked pita chips and you are good to go. Trust me. My name is Stacy and I wouldn't lie to you.
