When I was a little girl, my parents had an illustrated atlas of the United States. For each state, there was a unique photo representing their best feature. There was one state that I would always flip to...beautiful Vermont. I envisioned myself meandering through the hills in the cool breeze while admiring the Fall foliage and colonial architecture. My future had been determined. I would be a resident of paradise.
Well, as we all know, reality can be a far cry from childhood fantasy. Not that reality is a bad thing, mind you. Just different.
Now many years later, my Beloved husband most graciously filled a desire of my heart. He took our family on a holiday not only to Vermont, but on a tour of the New England states. It was 3 weeks of discovery, amazement, and happiness plus a few moments of grumpiness, pestering and tired feet...we were traveling with 4 smallish children, remember?
We traveled through 12 states and took thousands of photos. It was a trip I'll never forget.
